Fair Tuesday: Gifts for People Who Sew

As if Black Friday, Small Business Sunday, and Cyber Monday weren't enough, we've got Fair Tuesday comin' right at ya. Fair Tuesday is a shopping initiative created to encourage conscious spending in the midst of the holiday shopping blitz, and it calls attention to all of the awesome fair trade, ethical, and eco-friendly options out there. Along with several members of the Ethical Bloggers Network, I put together a Fair Tuesday shopping guide. There's a roundup of everyone's guides below, but I created mine specifically for people who sew. I know it's a narrow audience, but I think it's important to show that there are more options out there than a gift card to Joann's Fabrics. So show the seamstress or seamster in your life some love with these thoughtful gifts:

1. Waves Bandana Indigo Kit from Fancy Tiger Crafts

2. DIY Dressmaker Bag from Tilly and the Buttons

3. Vintage Sewing Box, available on Etsy by Mighty Vintage

4. Wool and the Gang Knit Kits, for beginning to advanced knitters

5. Fair Trade Mchoro Basket from The Basket Room, great for storing fabric scraps and other crafty business

6. Boundless Style by Victory Patterns, a new pattern book that lets sewers create your own designs using 15 mix-and-match pattern pieces

7. Organic Cotton Thread from The Draper's Daughter

8. Magnetic Pin Holder from Thread Theory, made in Vancouver by woodworker Wray Parsons
