Jacqui Palhegyi

I began blogging back in 2011, when I decided to take a good hard look at the impact my clothing choices were having on people and the planet. I started sewing, researching, and scouring San Francisco boutiques and consignment stores to build a truly ethical wardrobe.

This blog is a celebration of ethical fashion and design, sewing, thoughtful consumption, and all things vintage. Without being too pedantic (I was a high school teacher, after all), I hope to empower the people out there who share my philosophy – namely, that looking good doesn’t have to come with such a high social and environmental price tag.

By day, I’m a content writer and communications strategist, wife, and mamma to a silly, smart, and highly-energetic three-year old.

Birds of a Thread + Let’s Be Fair

In 2017, Birds of a Thread merged with Let’s Be Fair, a fellow ethical lifestyle blog founded by Dominique (all posts authored by her are noted). Now, you’ll find years of ethical content in one place. Thanks for the phenomenal work, Dominique!
