The Weekly Thread: Tom Robbins, The Reformation, and Chrismukkah Tunes

In an effort to update this sucker more frequently, I've decided to start a weekly roundup. Today I bring you sustainable work wear, Pendleton, a holiday soundtrack, words of wisdom, and the best damn audiobook I've listened to this year.

1. Wear: The Reformation's new(ish) suiting line

This isn't news, but it's worth repeating: The Reformation is doing suiting, and it's hot. I haven't written about The Reformation before, but I've been following the brand for a while. Based out of Los Angeles where the entire collection made, The Reformation focuses on using sustainable materials like viscose and deadstock fabrics. Initially, their collection was comprised mostly of slinky (albeit sexy) dresses, blouses, and skirts. But their new line of suiting brings an unprecedented elegance to their repertoire.

I don't wear blazers that often - my office is on the more casual side of business-casual - but I'm eyeballing this Ivory Asher blazer real hard.

2. Read: Sh!t Dame Vivienne Westwood Says

She's so sassy!

3. Read/ Listen: Tom Robbins' Tibetan Peach Pie

With all the rain in town lately my commute has been hellish, but Tom Robbins' autobiography has made the 3+ hours I spend in the car each day worth it. I'm listening to the audiobook (obviously), and I'm completely captivated. I've actually never read Robbins' fiction, but if it's half as charming as his account of a writer's life, I'm in.

4. Listen: Music from the O.C. Mix 3: Have a Very Merry Chrismukkah

Anyone out there nostalgic for 2003? Me neither, but if those tumultuous turn-of-the-century years brought us anything worth remembering, it was the cultural treasure that is The O.C. Seth, Summer, Marissa, and Ryan got me through some tough times in college, so every year I like to honor them with the sounds of Jimmy Eat World, The Long Winters, and The Ravonettes . Call it my little emo holiday tradition.

5. Read: The Beautiful World of Pendleton Wool

Colette Patterns recently launched an online sewing magazine called Seamwork. This article by Susan Beal explores the brand's history and gives us a peek into its mills in Portland and Washington. I'm still in love with the Portland Collection sweater I bought last winter, and glad it's finally chilly enough to wear it again.
